oh to fl

By my many temperature posts you may know I had the opportunity this past week to travel to Cleveland, Ohio to visit by daughter and then on to Boca Raton, FL as a “travel navigator”. During this trip I made the following observations…
1. It is colder in Cleveland than it is in Boca Raton. A LOT COLDER!
2. Cleveland has a somewhat bad reputation for being, well, Cleveland. I however really like the art things you can do there, from open studios, to small galleries to large museums. If you go to Cleveland, first go in the summer, and then check out a museum or two.
3. As a “travel navigator” (I don’t drive, so why I’m asked to go on long road trips I’m not sure, must be my great wit!) I’ve learned you need to do more than keep the driver awake, or walk a dog, or find a restaurant, or look something up, though you do that too. Most important is to say “You might want to slow down.” or “You’d better come to a complete stop.” I really need to work on these. (Yes there are some really good stories that go with those two quotes. You can ask, but a good navigator never tells:)
4. Golf is fun.
5. I saw a blue and black dress.
6. If you have the opportunity to travel. GO. You never know what experiences you might have. 5 below zero to a sunburn all in one week, ice sculpture contest to walking in the ocean, walking dogs no matter where you are, snow shoeing (Ok it was too cold, but it was discussed), golf, painting a room or enjoying a modern museum painting. Just go, explore, and have fun.
