christmas

Happy holidays everyone. During this holiday season I’ve made the following observations:
1. When booking flights home for your family, make sure the connecting flights are not through some obscure location. They might end up spending a night there.
2. When booking flights home for your family, quit being so cheap and just fly them into Manhattan. See #1. Also remember that the 2 hour drive to KC is really 4 hours and, (see #1) that can then be 8 hours for multiple trips. This is just arriving. They also have to go home!
3. Accept the fact, no matter how stupid you think it is, that some people will begin their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve.
4. Quit buying yourself gifts because you got a really good deal, even though you love to shop and others don’t (see #3). Someone in your family (not see #3) might see the same great deal and get it for you too. Now you have 2 of the same thing and you have to take one back and you ruined the surprise of a really nice gift. Use those shopping skills on others only!
5. Realize that Hallmark Christmas movies are not very accurate. Your piano hasn’t been tuned in 20 years and your family can’t sing. A white Christmas just means it’s really cold. The chances of your daughters meeting a prince from a nonexistent country, falling in love in three days, and bringing them home for Christmas is not going to happen. Though wouldn’t that be cool!
6. Having your family home for Christmas is awesome!

I hope you all had the happiest of holidays!
