flights

flight observations:

I haven’t flown with Delta for a while. We’ll see how this goes.

Arrived early. On to the gate. Terminal B. Could they have made this walk from the entrance any longer? Kansas City is helping you to get more steps in.

Wait. Quick stop at the Delta lounge. Delta, so far so good. There are more staff than travelers. I could get used to this lounge thing. Oh wait I have. This perk is courtesy of my oldest daughter. Today she was my favorite. Tomorrow…I’ll see them both, so we’ll see.

Early announcement: “the plane will arrive at 5:03. 20 minutes early.” People actually clap.

Second early announcement: “this is a little plane and we only have room for 20 roller bags. You will need to gate check them.” Why don’t they just go back to free checked bags and forget all this bag mess? I’m just glad I didn’t pay them to check it!!

It’s 1:02 and time to board. That’s one minute early. I’m impressed. But this is not Southwest. Why are all you people standing up to get on the plane. Sit down. You have a seat already assigned to you on the plane. It’s not going anywhere.

On the plane…”oh sorry, there’s a weather delay in NYC. We’ll be sitting here for at least 20 minutes.” See, now you’re not going anywhere!

Ok, we’re about ready to go. We’ll only be 10 minutes late arriving.

Next announcement…”Delta is proud to be connecting you with free wi-fi”…wait for it… “but this small plane doesn’t have it yet.” You can buy it though. Well that’s not free!!

Wait, I have t-Mobile. They say you can use it for internet on planes. I try…nothing…try again…nope…try…yeah, I have options. Use it for an hour for free or use one of my 4 all day plans. My trip has about an hour to go by now we’ll use that. I’m in. It doesn’t work either. The clock at the top now tells me my one hour Wi-Fi and free texting expires in 38 minutes. Never did work!

“Would you like a beverage? What about a snack? SunChips, a white chocolate macadamia bar, a biscoff cookie,” or something else. The flight attendant must have said that same line at least 17 times, I was in row 17, so why can’t I remember what that 4th item was.🤔. No age jokes needed.

“Look out the window soon. You’ll see the skyline.” That’s what the flight attended said to the person behind me. I love the NYC skyline. Watching…looking…waiting. What the heck? It was on the other side of the plane!

We arrived just a few minutes after the scheduled arrival time. Not bad for the 20 minute wait in KC.

Overall, what can I say about my travel today…it was ok. I got from one place to another. I had a nice lunch. I got in some steps. I didn’t have to lift my bags into the overhead bin space, The plane ride was pretty smooth and I arrived on time. I got in a nap, as there was no entertainment of any kind provided on this plane…look at me trying to see the upside of things! Oh and I got to eat a white chocolate macadamia nut bar. I wonder if that other thing I can’t remember would have been better?

NYC what will I observe next?
